We were appointed to provide the Audiovisual installation services for a major Dry Dock refit that took place in Cadiz, Spain to one of iconic Disney cruise liners "Magic".

The work required the installation and commissioning of the audio, video, control and lighting systems for all the events areas in which there could be up to 25 of these taking part ship wide everyday. To ensure the equipment was robust enough for this amount of use Astratto technicians were involved in specifying and setting up the equipment on board as soon as the ship had been brought into port. These event areas included work to install additional Lighting controls and AV Systems across the ship especially focussed on the Animator’s Palette restaurant (ex-Studio C) with new HDTVs, lights, walls, speakers, “It’s a Small World Nursery”, “Nephews”, O’Gills (Irish pub) and the Ship’s own TV Broadcasting suite.

Further to the Marine Audiovisual Systems, the requirement was to update the Emergency PA System across the ship with a newer and more reliable QSC & Peavey solution which was crucial for the passengers and crew safety in case of an emergency. Once all the installations had been commissioned and tested in dry dock they were taken on a ‘Shake Down’ Cruise to complete the testing and hand over of all the systems.

The successful completion of all the Ship’s Marine Audiovisual Systems installation, on time and on budget certainly impressed Disney Cruises and led for us to work on further projects for ships such as Disney "Wonder" in Freeport, Bahamas and Disney "Fantasy" in Florida.
